Quick Day to Night Make-up (the switchover)

Quick Day to Night Make-up (the switchover)

You know the lyrics the Beatles sang "I get by with a little help from my friends" Well in this case my friends are my 5 makeup saviors when 5pm rolls around and it's time to clock out and hit traffic while on the way to that dinner date I made... chances are I'm looking a little "dusty" after a long day of work.  The same story happens day in & day out to all of us. The day takes its toll and our makeup doesn't look as fresh as it did at 9am this morning. We all have things to do and people to see and you don't always have the time to do a full re-glam to look presentable. That's when what I like to call the "switchover" comes into play. The switchover is when you have to take your 5pm office face and upgrade it to night out on the town face within 10min. For visual purpose's I like to think of the story of the fairy God-Mother, with just the flick of her wand little Cinderella becomes transformed into her glamorous self.

Now my wand looks more like my makeup bag, but these products that I'll share with you below can help you in the bind of a switchover and can get you looking evening chic within minutes!

I'm assuming that you're already wearing the makeup you began your day with. I personally have my base on (foundation) my eyebrows on, some mascara, and probably some blush so I don't look too washed out.

The 1st product I grab is eyeliner to give some drama to the eyes. I prefer a kohl liner over a liquid liner (for smudging purposes). The reason being is I don't have time for the precision a liquid liner calls for. I drag the liner very tight to my lash line and then use my finger (or smudger) to buff and defuse the kohl up and around my lash line.

2nd product is a non-shimmer bronzer. The bonzer is here to bring dimension and life back into my flat, washed out face. Nothing says tired like a washed out face.I like to take a fluffy-ish brush (nothing too big or else your just painting the whole face) and run it over the top of my forehead (hairline) jawline and hallows of my cheeks.

                                   "Med Tan"

3rd I like to solitify the day to night look with an obvious pop of color so I'll bring out a vampy lip color. Vampy or "poppy" the choice is yours but let it be a color that changes your face game, and brings some element of flattering dimension.

        " Darkroom"

4th Mascara, just add another layer onto your lashes, especially to the bottom it will help open up your eyes more!

5th A bomb concealer that can help with touch ups. Undereyes and blemishes.

Heres my Cherry on top. Its not necassary to all but in my mind it is, so I choose not to leave it out. My skin is on the dryer side, so I use my Caudalie Elixir to soften my skins appearance after I'm finished with my application. It makes me not look dry and cakey. If your oily I would sugguest these blotting pads to take away any excess oil. The pads also deposit a light translucent powder too.
